designer ceiling dampens sound

A room with a nine-meter-high ceiling was retrofitted with a baffle ceiling solution. The acoustic situation had been so unfavorable that nobody wanted to host events in it.

Erlwein Hall at Messe Dresden was intended as a venue for a range of events such as shareholder or quarterly meetings, but the acoustic situation was such that customers did not want to use it.

A ceiling solution of 288 baffle Basotect® mounted on the nine-meter-high ceiling quickly remedied the situation. Measuring 1200 mm x 900 mm and with a special look resulting from baffles that were cut at a diagonal, the custom acoustic ceiling was visually and audibly impressive. It took less than three days to mount and afterward the room was very popular for all types of meetings.

"After equipping several smaller meeting rooms with acoustic solutions from SPÄH, we decided to have another, larger room equipped as well. The first rooms showed us how surprisingly effective the system is. And it is possible to design how the plates are implemented in various rooms for a customized look. We can now use our Erlwein Hall to the fullest extent. Whether with or without a public address system, the room has significantly improved both acoustically and visually."
